January 28, 2023 - Winter Concert |
For the first time, we deliberately extended our Fall season past Christmas and held our Winter Concert at the end of January. We were delighted to welcome a full house to hear our wonderful repertoire for our "Winter with You" concert, which featured some soloists and small ensemble pieces in addition to the full choir songs.
Our chosen charity this term was the Share Food Bank, a Coquitlam-based organization, and we were thrilled to be able to earmark $1000 for them from our audience attendance. Song List: Winter's Path (A. Bernon) Winter With You (PinkZebra) This Day (P. Lawrence, D. Nathan, D. Talbert; from Jingle Jangle) January Hymn (C. Meloy; The Decembrists) Daffodils (A.Lippa; expanded and arranged by J. Wiltse) I Lived (R. Tedder & N. Zancanella; OneRepublic) Hotta Chocolatta Rhythm Of Life (C. Coleman & D. Fields; from Sweet Charity) |
May 28, 2022 - Spring Concert
We wrapped up our Spring 2022 season with a fabulous "Tower of Song" concert. Originally planned for the Spring of 2020 and cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this repertoire was "resurrected" for our Spring 2022 season when we were finally able to sing in concert for a live audience again. As we had to cancel our "Into the Unknown" February concert, we sang some of our favourites from that repertoire as well.
Proceeds from the concert were donated to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation, in memory of former choir member Walter Peachey. Song List: Gordon Lightfoot Medley Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen) Lovers In A Dangerous Time (B. Coburn; as performed by The Barenaked Ladies) We Rise Again (L. Dubinsky; sung by The Rankin Family) Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchell) Sunny Days (Lighthouse) Tower of Song (Leonard Cohen) Song for the Mira (Allister MacGillivray) and from the "Into The Unknown" repertoire: Into the Unknown Dancing Queen Fiddler on the Roof (medley) Les Miserables (medley) Fancy Like |
November 30, 2019 - Fall Concert |
Our Fall 2019 concert offered a mix of music, including some musical theatre greats as well as '80s pop classics. Little did we know that it would be our last "in person" concert for over two years!
Proceeds from the "Fall Into Winter" concert were directed to FamilySmart (youth mental health services). Song List: True (Spandeau Ballet) This Is Me (from The Greatest Showman) Life In A Northern Town (The Dream Academy) Samba No Matter (Brian Tate) Frim Fram Sauce |
June 1, 2019 - Spring Concert
We wrapped up our Spring 2019 season with two concerts - a private performance on May 28th at the Residences@Belvedere in Coquitlam, and then our public concert on June 1 2019 at St. Laurence Church. It was lovely to have the chance to sing our repertoire twice, as well as to repeat a few of our fall songs for the performance at the Belvedere.
Our special guests for our concert were "The Digby Scallops" - a local band that specializes in Scottish, Irish and East Coast tunes and pub songs, featuring our own choir tenor Kevin Wallace and former soprano choir member Roan Wallace (https://www.facebook.com/The-Digby-Scallops-303515156931412/). We thoroughly enjoyed their melodies and energy this evening - thanks so much for joining us! The charity we supported with our proceeds from this concert was the Hope For Freedom Society, which provides the Cold Wet Weather Mat program in the Tri-Cities area (https://hopeforfreedom.org/). Song List: Ainsi Que la Brise Legere Dirait On Remember Me Kodachrome Put On A Happy Face Bohemian Rhapsody Songs of Irving Berlin |

November 24, 2018 - Fall Concert
Our Fall 2018 concert was filled with shanties and serenades from the sea. We were all thoroughly entertained by our guest openers, The Squares, who delighted us with their barbershop and a capella harmonies. We were also thrilled to support the very worthy charity Covenant House, donating the proceeds of our evening of music to their much-needed support of homeless youth.

May 27, 2018 - Spring Concert
A fantastic wrap-up to our Spring 2018 session took place on Sunday May 27, 2018. We were thrilled to have the Pacific Showtime Men's Chorus join us for the evening, and thoroughly enjoyed listening to their varied repertoire. With songs ranging from the Beach Boys to the Beatles to Gilbert & Sullivan, and some comedy sketches thrown in between, their set was fantastic. It was great to see our own director Jonathan working in a different milieu!
With the help of our generous audience, we raised $1000 to donate to the Crossroads Hospice Society. Executive Director Tereza McDermid spoke passionately about the amazing (and much-needed) services that the hospice provides to families in the Tri-Cities area, and we were all moved to hear her recount her experiences with the hospice. Song List: Hey Jude (J. Lennon & P. McCartney; arr. Jonathan Wiltse) Pompeii (Dan Smith; arr. Jacob Narverud) Pure Imagination (L. Bricusse & A. Newley; arr. Mark Hayes) Follow You, Follow Me (T. Banks, P. Collins & M. Rutherford; arr. J. Wiltse) Make You A Believer (S. Jordan & R. Neigher; arr. J. Wiltse) Uptown Funk (M. Ronson, B. Mars, & P. Lawrence; arr. Deke Sharon) Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen; arr. Roger Emerson) The Rhythm of Life (C. Coleman & D. Fields; arr. John Leavitt) |

May 27, 2017 - Songs From The Cinema
e had an amazing Spring concert and truly enjoyed performing alongside Sarabande, our phenomenal special guests! The highlight of the night was (possibly) the hilarious introductions to Sarabande's songs, as their MC tried to connect their songs (somehow) to movies, given the theme of our set list. Or perhaps the highlight was the beautiful melding of voices when the two choirs joined together to sing both our opening and closing songs. Some might say that the highlight of the night was learning that we had just over $1000 to donate to ReFood, the local charity that we supported with our concert. Whichever way you look at it, the evening was an outstanding success and we look forward to many more like this one!

November 26, 2016 - Hotta Chocolatta Fall Concert
Our first concert under the direction of Jonathan Wiltse was a wonderful culmination of our term! We thoroughly enjoyed hearing Jonathan perform his comedy piano routine to open the evening, and our set was a great success as well. It was lovely to send our audience members home with a package of "Hotta Chocolatta" to thank them for joining us for the evening - hope you enjoyed your treat! We were pleased to have raised over $400 to support the SHARE Food Bank in Coquitlam.
